Closterium archerianum Species: Cell body strongly curved, gradually tapered toward ends, both ends rounded, 175-(225-300) μm long, 16-(22-25)-30 μm wide, L/W = 10-12; cell wall brownish in color, striated (5-6/10 μm); chloroplasts with 3-4 laminae, 5-7 pyrenoids in each semicell (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
