Chlorococcum Genus: Subaerial algae; cell body without gelatinous coat; a single chloroplast cup-shaped with a pyrenoid (Illustrations of The Japanese Fresh-water Algae, 1977).
Species: Cell body 10-20 (up to 40) μm in diam., zoospore 6-10 μm long, 3-5 μm wide (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 10, Chlorophyta II, 1988).
