Chlamydomonas heterogama Species: Cell body broad ellipsoidal or nearly spherical, 17-24 μm long, 15-24 μm wide; chloroplast cup-shaped with a large concavity; papilla present, broad with flattend apex; a pyrenoid anterio-posteriorly depressed, located at posterior half of the cell body; nucleus at anterior (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
