Chaetophora Genus: Filament with branching; cell body cylindrical; a single chloroplast plate-like, slightly curved, with 1 to several pyrenoids; apical cells pointed or drawn out as hairly projections; no difference between axial and branching filaments; forming a large clump attached on a substrate (Guide book to the "Photomicrographs of the Freshwater Algae", 1998).
