Carteria Species: Cell body elongated ellipsoidal in shape, 15-20 μm long, 6-10 μm wide; papilla absent; chloroplast cup-shaped; a single spherical pyrenoid located at central lateral; stigma elliptical or circular, located at anterior half of the cell surface; nucleus anterior (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
