mostly longer than wide; flattened; each semicell hemispherical, spherical, ellipsoidal,
rectangular, pyramidal or kidney-shaped; no apical indentation.

Cell body dorso-ventrally compressed, with strong constriction at the center,
transverse section elliptical or diamond-shaped.
