Euglena viridis Species: 40-65 μm long, 14-20 μm wide; anterior end rounded, posterior end pointed; fusiform during locomotion; highly plastic when stationary; chloroplasts more or less bandform, radially arranged; nucleus posterior (Kudo, 1966). Fusiform, 40-80 μm long, 12-20 μm wide; swim rapidly (Illustrated guide, 1985).
Mucous body granular in shape (An illustrated guide to freshwater zooplankton in Japan, 2000).
