Euglena caudata
Hübner, 1886

Euglena caudata Species: Cell body fusiform (spindle-shaped), posterior tapered into a long cauda, 60-84 μm long, 15-22 μm wide; active euglenoid movement; 9-15 chloroplasts saucer-shaped with a slight wavy margin, each containing a pyrenoid covered at both sides with paramylon sheath; a flagellum about 2/3 of body length; nucleus spherical, 12 μm in diam.; stigma (eyespot) 5-6 μm in diam.
