Species: Cell body ellipsoidal (or slightly cylindrical), up to 23 μm long, 16 μm wide; a papilla present, with flattened apex; chloroplast cup-shaped, longitudinally incised; a pyrenoid at posterior half of the cell body; a stigma elongated elliptical, located at equator; nucleus anterior; (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
