Chlamydomonas Species: Cell body ellipsoid, ellipsoidal ovoid or broad ellipsoid, 12-22 μm, 8-18 μm wide; papilla hemispherical; flagella nearly body-length or more; chloroplast cup-shaped; a pyrenoid spherical or broad ellipsoid, located at posterior half of the cell body; a nucleus centrally located; stigma circular or disc-shaped at anterior half of the cell body; (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).


Chlamydomonas debaryana Goroshcankin 1891 (or Chlamydomonas simplex Pascher 1927 ?), cell body 15 μm long, 10 μm wide, nucleus located at the center of the cell, a pyrenoid (3.5 μm in diam.) at posterior half of the cell, stigma elliptical in shape, located slightly anterior from equotor of the cell, papilla present, x 640, standing water under Akigase bridge, Akigase park, Saitama city, Saitama Pref., Japan, February 27, 2005 by Y.
