Chlamydomonas Species: Cell body ellipsoidal, 20-33 μm long, 12-15 μm wide; chloroplast cup-shaped, lingitudinally striated (or incised); a pyrenoid located at the center of the cell; papilla absent; stigma elongated, located at anterior half of the cell; nucleus anterior (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
