Chlamydomonas regularis

Chlamydomonas Species: Cell body broad ellipsoidal (or slightly cylindrical), both ends rounded, 22-28 μm long, 18 μm wide; a small conical (slightly broad) papilla present; cellwall thick; flagella 1.5 times longer than the cell body; chloroplast filling the entire cell body, basically cup-shaped, inner space present at posterior half of the cell; a pyrenoid ellipsoidal or slightly irregular in shape, located at the center of the cell body; stigma large, irregular elliptical, at anterior; nucleus behind the pyrenoid (located at posterior half of the cell); (Süßwasserflora von Mitteleuropa 9, Chlorophyta I, 1983).
