Raphidiocystis lemani: Cell body spherical, ~25 μm in diam., with gelatinous coat ~10 μm thick; cup-shaped spicules embedded, many radiate tubular spicules 2-3 x body length; ectoplasm distinct with granules (2 μm in diam.); endoplassm eccentric, plae, finely granular; nucleus ovoid ~3 μm in diam. with endosome 2 μm in diam.; contractile vacuoles in peripheral ectoplasm; axopods extend from central granule (Illustrated Guide, 1985).
