Loxophyllum verrucosum
(Stokes, 1893) Dragesco, 1965

Genus: Ventral side with a hyaline border, reaching posterior end and bearing trichocysts; dorsal side with either similar trichocyst-border or with trichocyst-warts (Kudo, 1966).
Species: Cell body broad, 200-250 μm long, anterior obliquely truncated with peribuccal papillae, a flattened band present all round the periphery of the cell, sharply pointed bristles, macronucleus moniliform,a series of contractile vacuoles near dorsal surface (Carey, 1992).
