slightly constricted in the middle, vertically circular (f. dissiliens), sometimes with a slight papilla in
opposite disposition (f. bidentula) or three ones equidistantly (f. tridentula);
semicells subtrapeziform, lateral margin convex; cell wall punctated; filaments not twisted
