Trachelomonas Species: Lorica ellipsoid to nearly fusiform, posterior end conically tapering into a stout projection; flagellum apertures with a low collar having a circle of spines; wall covered with short spines; 48-50 μm long, 20-23 μm wide (Photomicrographs of the Fresh-water Algae, vol.3, 1985).
