Genus: Ventral side with a hyaline border, reaching posterior end and bearing trichocysts;
dorsal side with either similar trichocyst-border or with trichocyst-warts (Kudo, 1966).
Species:
Cell body broad, 200-250 μm long,
anterior obliquely truncated with peribuccal papillae, a flattened band present all round the periphery of the cell,
sharply pointed bristles, macronucleus moniliform,a series of contractile vacuoles near dorsal surface
(Carey, 1992).

Cell body elongated like a flattened cylinder, variable in size,
80-350 μm long,
a flattened band with trichocysts present around the periphery of the cell, peribuccal papillae present,
sharply pointed bristles emerge all round the cell, four spherical macronuclei,
a series of contractile vacuoles near dorsal surface (Carey, 1992).
