Australian Australia Y028

Copyright 1998-2017 Yoshiaki Yoneda

The Australian wild strains were supplied through Professor D. A. Austin's aid.
The hypocotyls and veins of cotyledons have a tinge of red. It is a distinguishing characteristic of this strain that the cotyledonary lobes open a little. There are epidermal hairs to the hypocotyls and to the cotyledonary petiole. The leaf is big, three-pointed, and of the main lobe-intermediate. The plant is vigorous. This strain is an extremely late bloomer (flower buds are recognized at the beginning of October in Shizuoka-city). The flower is light blue tinged with gray. The flower diameter is 6 to 7 cm. The epidermal hairs of the calyx are light brown. One flower is generally observed per peduncle. However, there can be two flowers per peduncle.
