Sisibotan-oya, Parental stock of Lion (or feathered) double, feathered heterozygote (+/fe)

The lion flower is sterile, as is the double flower. To keep the strains of the lion double flower, it would be good to recognize the heterozygous plants of both feathered and duplicated genes. However, we cannot distinguish heterozygotes of duplicated from normal individuals that don't have the duplicated gene. Moreover, we are not so certain to distinguish feathered heterozygotes. Thus we had better select large numbers of parental plant candidates and to harvest the seeds. An individual with a round flower that has curlings in the leaves, as shown in this figure, becomes a parental plant candidate.
