This figure is explained as follows: "Flowers and leaves change variously. There are flowers of emerald, variegated, white, peacock, and irregular lion". The variegated flecked flower is at lower right, and the white flower at center is an irregular lion. Various leaves, such as five-pointed, normal, pear and long slender willow-like leaves, are depicted. The variegated leaves are called Isaha (variegated leaf). The variegated-leaf plants were valued highly in the classic gardening of the Edo era.
