Morning glory Ipomoea nil (= Pharbitis nil)

Africa-7, Leaf

Copyright 1998-2017 Yoshiaki Yoneda

Leaves are wide and the cut between the main and side lobes is weak. Because the form of the leaves resembles the phenotypic expression of the retracted (Suhama) gene of the varied morning glory, the author called it retracted-like leaf. But, as a result of comparison with other strains, now the author has decided to call it a wide main lobe type. (580-36 2001.7.18 photo by YY)
