When a willow leaf is combined with a bamboo leaf, an extremely narrow leaf results. This is called a filamentous willow leaf. The individual of filamentous willow leaves grows slowly, and its flowering begins late. The beginning of flowering in the mutant morning glory is generally later than that in the large flowered mornirng glory because the growth of the former retards due to its narrow, rugose or variegated leaves.
