A pistil and a stamen in a flower bud one day before opening.
The anther of a stamen becomes big, too.
The pistil is taller than the stamen.
2 The head of this pistil is irregular. There is no pollen on it. 3 You can see clearly the pollen stuffed in the anther. The anther is broken and the pollen comes out before the flower opens. |
Let's watch a pistil and stamens in a flower
|
Inside the flower, there is a pistil in the center surrounded by 5 stamens.
If you watch carefully, you may find something like white powder on the tip of a stamen.
This is pollen shed from the anther (pollen sac).
Here, we see pollen spread over a petal.
Let's observe a tip of a pistil with a magnifying glass.
